The Theater
Question smirked slightly. "Found something." She pulled the secret door open, looking down. "The 'great Question' was someone else. I'm just an heir."

Through the secret door in the creepy room.
It takes Question's eyes a moment to adjust to the darkness through the door, but when they do, she is quite shocked. Laying curled up in a ball at the end of a long wooden ladder is the unmistakable, unconscious form of Lucy Lamour. Her golden locks matted with blood, and only a thin piece of material that vaguely resembled a curtain, covered her nakedness from view. The good news is she was breathing.

The Hidden Room Under The Other Hidden Room
Question made her way down the ladder quickly, kneeling next to the girl at its base. She turned her head to face Murphy. "Go get Detective Houston and show him how to get here. Hurry, she's hurt badly." She then tapped her ear. "Tot, have an ambulance sent to the theater. Tell them someone's badly hurt." She then started looking over Lucy's injuries, seeing what she could do in terms of first aid.

Tot responded quickly, saying he would get an ambulance there ASAP.
As Question looked over the frail looking actress she noticed a couple of things. Though Lucy's frame was small, she had quite the athletic build. Also, it was apparent that Lucy had put up quite the struggle, as there was blood on her hands, and under her fingernails that were not consistent with any of her injuries. There were also defensive bruises on her forearms. The injury that knocked her out was apparently a blow to the back of the head, where most of the bleeding had come from. There were also several superficial lacerations on her arms, and a few on her face and neck.

Murphy nodded, looking a bit startled. This was definitely bigger than anything he had gotten himself into before.
"Houston. Right." Murphy headed back through the ducts the way he had come, as fast as he could. When he emerged, he shouted, "Detective Houston! We found her!"

The Stage
Jack Houston turned towards Mr. Murphy, pondering for a second who the dusty man in the tuxedo was. "Found who? The murderer? Amelia Earhart? Power Girl? Come on man, if you have information you can at least start by making sense!"
The cellar of the Creepy little Room
Tot contacted Renee again. "Stev Smiley's last known address is in Gotham. Apparently he gets a steady disability check for a war injury, and he cashed this month's last week."

The Hidden Room
Renee nodded a bit, though she knew Tot couldn't see it, and continued her work on helping stop the actress's bleeding. "Please tell me that ambulance is going to be here soon, Tot. I've already investigated one corpse tonight and I'm not in the mood for another."

"What? Oh, sorry..no, the actress. The singer. She's in a creepy little room made by a psychopath and she's hurt; there's already an ambulance on its way. I can take you there."
With that, Murphy heads back toward the air vent.

Jack Houston stopped Mr. Murphy when they made it to the air vent. "That's all fine and good that you've found her, and there is an ambulance outside, I was wondering what its for. . But if its only accessibly through an air vent, how do you suppose we get her out? There's got to be another way inside."
Creepy Cellar
Lucy Lamour stirred in Renee's arms, her eyes blinking open. ". . Oooh. .I feel like I just out drank the entire Gotham police department. . "

Murphy stopped and thought that over.
"Well, there probably is another way out...after all, the psycho wasn't in there, but she was. I don't know what that way is, though; shouldn't we get into the room so we can find it? I mean, it's hidden. You might not be able to find the room itself from the outside unless you know where to look."

Hidden Room
Question shook her head. "No, it takes a bullet to feel like that. Trust me; done both." She continued to hold the bandage in place, looking up as she heard Murphy and Houston come down the ladder. "Ambulance is on its way. Either of you see a good way to get her out of here?" There was a hint of worry in her voice, though she fought to keep it out and sound confident for the injured girl.

Creepy Cellar
Houston looked down the secret door, seeing Question holding Lucy. "Renee, that you? Wow. I've gotta say, you look better with your makeup on. But to business. If my internal compass is correct, we should be under the ice house behind the theatre. Luckily, we don't have to rely on my inner compass." He pulls out a small circular device, with a small antenna and a blinking red light.
"Tracking device." He than pulls out what looked like a walkie talkie with a screen. "Hmm. Good thing I brought this, I was dead wrong. Seems as though we are directly under the stage. I could of sworn we weren't curving in those tunnels. Oh well." He than picked up his cell phone, and made a quick call. "Gordon? Houston here. We found Lucy Lamour, she's injured. We are located in a room about 30 meters or so below the stage. Get some construction workers in here, and dig us a hole. Thank you sir. Yes, Renee is fine. Yes, Lucy is conscious. Uh huh. No, I don't want to date Barbara. I still owe her fifty cents from fifth grade. Yes, I know you didn't ask that. I was just preempting it." He smiled, and than hung up. "Should be out of here in an hour or so. We've got to sit tight. Here Renee, hand her up."
He offered his arms to take the small form of Lucy.

The Creepy Place
Question stepped back from Lucy, nodding to Houston to let him take her. "It's the shoes, isn't it? Gave away my identity." She turned her faceless gaze upward. "Keep her head supported."
Well, Harvey, found your niece, and she's alive. But that gives more questions than answers... then again, if there's one thing I learned from Charlie, it's that there are always more questions than answers. "Thanks, Houston."

A few hours later
Lucy Lamour had been rescued, and shuttled into an ambulance. The dead guard had been shipped to the Chief Medical examiner's office for a priority autopsy.
Jim Gordon, Jack Houston, Renee Montoya and Mr. Murphy had gathered at an all night diner called Miss Kay's where Miss Kay certainly still ran the place, spry at eighty seven, waiting the tables with a winning smile.
Jim took a mouthful of black coffee from the kitty cat shaped mug Miss Kay had offered him, and waited until she was out of hearing range before speaking. "I'm not sure how I feel about letting an unknown freelancer in on this case." His eyes fell on Mr. Murphy momentarily before returning to his menu. "However, my experience with freelancers and unusual cases have come off positive more often than negative."
Gordon than glanced at Houston, as if commanding him to give the details of the crime. Jack nodded and opened up his notebook. "There was no ID on the vic. Hoping the ME can identify him with dental records. Breaking apart the stage, we found a secret hidden door and a collapsible ladder that the kidnapper probably used to take Ms. Lamour. The other actors say she was always on stage during intermission, practicing her routines, but liked to do so alone."
He sighed, rubbing his temples. "All the actors give each other alibis, we are checking on the audiences' alibis, though I expect most to of been in the cocktail room. And now we need to search for connections with those girls mentioned in the articles in that secret room you found." Jack Houston turned his sharp detective eyes on Renee and Mr. Murphy. "If you have any information, I need it."

Mr. Murphy spread his hands over the table and addressed Houston. "Look, all I know is that I was hired to make sure nothing happened to Ms. Lamour. When something did happen, I went to look for her. I found the creepy room through the air ducts and, when she," he said, motioning to Renee, "found Ms. Lamour, I went looking for you guys. I don't know anything about the other girls, sorry."
