Jael Caine looked up from the papers, her eyes a piercing gray. "No. We're not going. Leaving is not going to solve anything." The girl sounded angry, with every right to be considering those detentions. She stood on her seat, pulling a broken flag pole from between the rows of bleachers and almost wielding it like one would a spear.
"Once we're out, how do you know anything will change? Do you think our parents will be able to protect us? They've done shit for us so far." Jael began stepping down the bleachers, until she was on the gym floor, facing Question and Tolmar, but still a good distance away. Almost acting like a wall between them and the hooded figures.
Tolmar jumped infront of Question, yelling out to his friend. "What are you talking about! We need to get out of here, before the principal finds us! We can't live in the school forever!"
Jael nods. "I know. But how do we hide what has happened to us? How is the world going to react to the new Jim and Amber? Heck, the new Tolmar as well? Do you think you can keep your gift hidden forever? People are going to try to use us. Manipulate us. Because we're young. And that isn't fair, and I'm not going to stand for it!" As she yelled, the whole school shook as though there had been a violent earthquake. The crowd outside screamed as the police tried to push them back.
"What the hell is going on in there, Renee.. You better come out with all your pieces, or Gordon's going to have my ass.." Jack Houston muttered as he fought to keep his balance.
Basement
Principal Highdecker dove under his deck, hiding his balding head underneath his thick arms. "This. . what is going on, I didn't ask for earthquakes!"
The Gym
Tolmar stumbled due to the rumblings, and everyone in the gym looked mighty confused. Question was able to reach out and keep Tolmar from falling. The bleachers crashed down onto the floor, the hooded figures jumping deftly and keeping themselves from injury.
"W.. what the hell was that?" Jael asked, dropping her makeshift spear and looking around to make sure noone was injured.
