Faron looked up at Fitz, with a slight panic in her eyes. "No, we need to stay down here a little while longer. . ."She reached out and took Fitz hand, than she lowered her voice so only he could hear. "We. . .might be able to do some good. . .If you can think of a reason for everyone to stay in the lounge a few more hours. Please, Fitz. Gil and Cynthia do not understand me like you do."

Fitz nodded. "We can do that." He got up, patted his sister's hand, picked up a checker from a nearby table where the patrons were in the midst of a game, tossing it at the back of Cynthia's head to get her attention.
Cynthia stopped, turning and glaring at him. "What was that for?"
Fitz shrugged, gesturing her and Gil over. "We need to plan... something. Like... something?"
Cynthia blinked. "You make no sense." But she sat down with him and Faron.

After a few hours of planning a rather hilarious scenario on how to borrow Kenji's boat, the group heard screaming from outside. Kenji and his wife ran to the door, throwing it open. Fitz, Cynthia and Gil ran to the windows to see Airships in the air, flanked by charizards who were breathing down fiery doom.
"PEOPLE OF NEW BARK, LISTEN TO ME. YOU HAVE LONG SENSE BEEN HOLDING FUGITIVES FROM THE ILSANI NATION, AND YOU MUST TURN THEM OVER TO US IMMEDIATELY IF YOU WISH YOUR LIVES TO BE SPARED" A blaring voice came from the head airship.
At first the people of New Bark had looked panicked, but suddenly their faces changed. All at once, looks of steadfast resolve crossed their faces.
"Get the children to Kenji's boat." A mother said, handing her toddler to her twelve year old son who nodded and fled.
"But Dad, I'm sixteen now. I want to help. I've been training!" A boy just about to adulthood pleaded with his father, who gave in with a sympathetic smile. "All right son. Be careful."
Kenji turned to his wife, and kissed her forehead. "Go wake Hayden. Bring him down, get him to the boat."
The wife stopped, looked at her husband somewhat angry. "Kenji. I'm fighting too, you can't do it alone."
Kenji sighs, shaking his head. "I had hoped to escape from all this. Hayden deserves so much better, Rosetta."
"I know." Rosetta looks at him sadly. Suddenly the inn shook, the walls becoming very warm. Hayden came running down the stairs, along with the other guests who were brandishing pokeballs.
"Mama? I. . I'm scared!" Hayden said, clinging to Rosetta's leg.
"I know son. Listen. . You know how to pilot Daddy's boat, don't you? You've got to get all the youngins away from here. Take them past Indigo to Lavender Town. Keep them safe." She kissed her son's forehead. She than caught site of Fitz and the others.
"You there!" Rosetta called them over. "Go with Hayden. This isn't your fight. Go!" She shoved them all out of the Inn.
Outside they saw an amazing sight, the people of New Bark had called their pokemon and were fighting back the airships. Kenji was leading a mighty Gyrados against one of the Charizards, and the grizzled Gyrados was obviously the stronger of the two. Unfortunately, there were reinforcements on the way, as the horizon darkened with flying shapes.
Faron grabbed Fitz's hand, tears in her eyes. "To the boat. There's nothing we can do." Gil sweeped Hayden into his arms, and grabbed Cynthia's hand, running full tilt towards the wharf.
"Their numbers are too great. We'll have to bring him out!"A voice called just as the group reached the wharf. Kenji's boat was ready for sailing, already filled with children and preteens.
As the boat set sail, the water beneath them swelled, and out of the water and what looked like a giant blue and white whale with large squarish fins emerged from beneath the waters, going to New Bark's aide.
Gil hung onto the railing of Kenji's boat, holding Hayden close. The child's eyes go wide. "Kyogre!"

Not again. As Gil dragged her from the inn, Cynthia struggled, drawing her gun with her free hand and looking for a target, distracting herself from her memories with thoughts of tactics. Airship's there. I could take the inflatable... but that would send it down into the town. More destruction than it would prevent... trainers. Where are the trainers? Hit one, free their Pokemon, which will probably run. Where are they? "Let me go... this can't happen... not again..." Then she was on the boat, still looking for a target, barely noticing the rise of Kyogre past the tears she didn't realize she'd lost the fight to hold in.
Fitz held his sister's hand tightly, moving between her and the destruction and turning to face her, doing all he could to hold her attention on him rather than the events surrounding them. "We've got the kids safe... and we're going to keep them that way. Period."

Gil noticed Cynthia's tears, but made no comment about them as he drew her and Hayden into his arms for a tight embrace. "We've got each other. Lets promise that, here and now. None of us gets left behind." Gil looks over at Fitz, fighting to put a smile on his face. "Right, Fitz? Together."
"Yeah. You've got it..." Fitz says as he takes his eyes off of Faron for a moment to look towards Gil.
"That sounds nice." Faron says dreamily. "A family Fitz. We're a family again..."

Cynthia rose to her feet, holstering her pistol and nodding to the others. "We're in this together." She then looked over the younger people on the boat, and spoke more softly to the others. "We were bound for Indigo, but we can't bring the children up the road leading there... that's far too dangerous. Should we make for Lavendar first?"
