Tim held his hands out for the ball. "Sure. What happened?"

Owen tossed Tim the ball as he started his story. "Her name's Amanda. We met during college, got together, and were together for years. I had put a down payment on a diamond and everything. Bought her that house on the coast she wanted. I didn't tell her this. I wanted to surprise her. . But towards the end, she kept hinting that I was hiding something from her." He ran a hand through his hair, looking concerned. "And its been a few years since she broke up with me for 'not being honest'. I just don't know what she wanted me to tell her! I wasn't cheating on her, My . . extra curricular activites. . seemed to coincide with her yoga and everything so that wasn't cutting into our time together. I just don't understand."
He frowned deeply, sitting down on the pavement. "I. . it was really easy to talk to her too. She had a really pretty smile. Hardly talks to me now though. She would probably think it was pathetic me thinking about her all these years later."

Tm smiled and shook his head as he sat down next to his new friend. "Pathetic? Nah. From my experience, women like to be surprised but they hate not knowing everything, and if something is taking as long as that must have taken they'll catch on that you're hiding something."
"What we need to do is find her and let her know what was really going on. Ask her for a second chance. If she takes you up on it, great. If not...well, that happens too, and then it just becomes live-and-learn. What's her full name? I can probably find her for you."

"You mean tell her everything? Like, my extreme workouts?" Owen grinned. "Her name is Amanda Williams. But, if I find her, I want to do it by natural means. Having you locate her seems kind of sneaky. I know she still lives in Gotham. My mom plays bingo with her mom at least once a month. Probably had a marriage planned and everything. Too bad I ruined it." He frowned, than shook his head, attempting to get out of his dark mood. "I don't know about asking for a second chance. But a cup of coffee, a chance to be honest with her. . That would be nice. Maybe she would smile for me."

<<I've seen this before,>> thought Tim. <<Hell, I've been this before. Fortunately, I know what needs to be done.>>
"Whatever you say, man. I just think that talking is always better than no talking, especially in matters of the heart."
<<Ring, find her for me. I think I need to play go-between.>>

The Hideout
Seelie knelt next to Raheem. "He's frightened, but he knows he's strong and when you're in the room he's less scared." She smiled a bit. "Also... he's beautiful, and not nearly as scary as I'd expected up close." She closed her eyes, whispering some soft words, and the tiger's breathing became easier. "There."
She then rose to her feet, looking to Selena. "Reed - Owen - and I were... close. But he doesn't know who I am, and I'm not really ready for him to. I hope to be, soon."
Booster Gold's Room
Robin grumbled as he climbed the last stair to reach the door to the room Oracle had set aside for Booster. Making his way to the door, he knocked firmly. "Booster, tell me you're not here?"

The Hideout
"Thank you Seelie. Its nice to see him breathing easier." Selena said softly as she looked down at her tiger fondly. "I hope his recovery will be quick." She paused a moment, than turned to face Seelie. "I can understand what it is like, for the person you love, once loved, to keep secrets from you."
That was all she said, before bidding Seelie adieu and walking to her room for some much needed rest.

Booster Gold's house.
The door opened, and Booster looked at Robin with a cocky raised eyebrow. "Hey Skeets! It's the little red bird, come to pay me a visit." He said, calling over his shoulder. The robot zoomed up.
"Sir, I think the proper approach is to invite him inside."
"Well, of course it is. I was just about to do that." Booster grinned, stepping aside and letting Robin in.

Booster's Place
Robin glared at Booster a moment, muttering under his breath, "I think this is a mistake..."
He then stepped through the door. "Oracle said I should talk to you. Something about public relations..."
The Park
The power ring searched for a moment, then revealed to Torch that Amanda was somewhere near the church, giving her exact location at an intersection.

Booster looked taken aback for a moment, but recovered nicely. "Ah! You want to go into public relations! The bird and bat want to get some better press huh, well you've come to the right place."
Skeets was bobbing in place, humming a tune. "Booster Gold, Booster Gold! Saves the day with Integrity O's! Booster Go~ld!"

"I'm not certain that's what Oracle meant." Robin took a seat, glaring at the singing robot. "She seems to think that I have trouble dealing with people. I don't; I just don't care much. Help the good guys, beat up the bad guys. That's what I do."

Booster immediately whirled around, and grabbed the arms of the chair Robin had sat himself in, bringing the bird's sullen face close to his sparkling smile. "That may be all you do now, but its not all that should be done!"
Skeets seemed to be in some kind of hibernation mode, and continued to hum Booster's jingles. "Only Skeets brand laundry detergent can get your whites looking as bright as Booster's smile! ~Skeets, Skeets, keeps us sparkling cle~an!"
Booster let go of the arms of the chair, and gave Robin some space. "In theory, that's all that superheroes do. Fight the good fight, bring home some villains. But why? Ask yourself, why do YOU do it? I do it because I like it when people applaud. I like the endorsements." He was grinning widely, than suddenly he turned serious. "But if that was all I wanted, I could of been an actor. I want to help people. I like people."
He turned his keen eyes on Robin. "And if what I heard about you is correct, you do not like people. In fact, word is you're a snot nosed brat hanging on the bat's coattails."
"Just hangin' on by a thread, gingivitis doesn't stand a chance against Gold brand dental floss!" Skeets interjected before Booster continued.
"You say you're good with people. I bet you wanna smack me right now, dont cha? Right here?" Booster turned his left cheek to face Robin, and pointed at it. "Betcha wanna curse out the sweet, pretty lady in the wheelchair that sentcha here." Booster winked, and grinned again. "But. I betcha want to prove everyone wrong even more. Stick with me kid. You'll go far."

"Hey, Owen. I've got to run; I'll talk to you later."
Tim then hopped up, changing into his costume. He flew off toward the intersection he had been given.

Booster's Apartment
Robin glared at Booster a moment, looking for all the world, like he was going to slap him, then leaned back in the chair and smirked. "I see the game, Booster. I get it. I hit you, then I get lectured. But if that's the game..." Robin shrugged. "I don't lose. Losing's just not what I do."
Streets of Gotham
As Torch arrived at the location, he saw Seelie, still in costume, making her way from the hideout toward the city center. She appeared to be looking for something.

Gotham Park
Owen looks kind of lost, abandoned at the basketball courts.
Booster's House
Booster reeled back, dark fire flashing in his eyes, the atmosphere suddenly changing. "A game? You think this is a game? All of the things I just said to you, and you focused on the violence? You think my time is so useless that I can waste it playing games with little brats like you? GET OUT!" He points towards his door, deadly serious. "You've got a lot of growing up to do before I'll tell you anything. I'm surprised the Bat even puts up with your greater than thou bullshit. If this is a game to you, Bird-boy, you just lost. Now get the hell outta my house so I can begin to clean the furniture you soiled with your presence!!!"
Skeets snapped out of hibernation mood, and interjected. "Sir. . ? Ms. Oracle wanted us to teach him. . . sending him on his way might not be the best. . "
Booster raised his other hand, cutting his robot sidekick off. " Theres nothing I can do for the boy, except give him a good ass kicking, and I respect Oracle and the Bat too much to even try."
