Torch peered closely at Seelie. "You say you use emotions....how do you perceive them? Can you focus them? Perhaps...project the essence of an emotion at a target?"

Reed had noticed the glance from Seelie, but didn't know what to make of it. Did he have something on his face? He turned away from the others and wiped his face just to make sure.

The Church
Seelie looked to Reed, her face momentarily showing an odd combination of amusement and a sort of shame, before looking to Tim. "Maybe I could learn to... but when I channel emotions at people... well, what happened to the drivers back at the warehouse? That's the sort of thing I do. I don't know how to just feed emotions into people or things."
She looked to Catwoman. "What about you? I mean... I know your reputation. But what's your story?"

"My reputation is my story, kitten." Catwoman purred, looking at Seelie and managing to look quite bored with the whole situation. She waved her hand dismissively before continuing. "What is it you want to know? I'm not going to open up and explain my hobbies, or make an introduction like the Golden Boy here. I am what I am."

<<....she's afraid.>>
Torch had nodded at Seelie's explanation, and had been mulling over different ways to...train? Practice? Who knows? In the midst of these thoughts, however, hearing Catwoman's voice, he realized it. It was a tremor, a sub-tone, so subtle and so well-hidden that he was unsure if she knew it herself.
<<Show me.>>
Affirmative. Activating Emotional Spectrum Filter.
A multitude of colors sprang out from the assembled personages; green and blue from Oracle, tinges of violet around Seelie, Reed, and mixed with orange around Booster Gold; more indigo than perhaps one would expect. But around Catwoman...
There it was. The color of saffron spice swirling in her breath, in her eyes. A subtle, pervasive shade cascading through her senses and blinding her soul, as the Yellow always did. Torch had been trained to see this; been trained to spot it. As a Blue Lantern, his mission was to thwart the Yellow. To thwart Fear, and replace it with Hope.
He stepped forward and reached his hand out to her, smiling gently, and radiating the Blue.
"You are, indeed, what you are," he said softly, "but you are not all that you could be." Then his smile widened, and his voice became challenging. "Prove me wrong. Show us all you're not afraid of me, afraid of a little Hope. Prove it to yourself, or to anyone who you think matters."
His hand stretched out a little more, daring her to take it up and answer the Blue Lantern's challenge.

Catwoman looked at Torch with an arched brow. Her first reaction would of been to hiss, and move herself away, but there was something about how he had worded it. A challenge. A smile curled her lips again, and though she wasn't sure if she believed his words a bit of her heart wanted too.
She took a step towards him, bypassing his outstretched hand. "All right Kitten. Here's all the proof you'll need." Than, without giving Torch the chance to react, Catwoman sweeps him into her arms and brings her lips to his, dipping him down in an old movie type of embrace.
A moment later, Catwoman thought it wasn't working, that his embrace brought no hope, but than, her mind exploded in fantastic imagery.
A scene of Gotham under a blanket of snow, Selena Kyle walking hand and hand with a small girl full of energy. A flash, Bruce's bedroom in Wayne Manor, Alfred knocking discreetly to make sure they were dressed, than breakfast in bed, enveloped in his arms. Another flash, the Gotham shopping district, Selena Kyle walking next to Barbara's wheelchair, them both enjoying a bit of ice cream, a man following after them carrying their many purchases. Another flash, Wedding bells, a huge cathedral, a flower girl skipping in front of her, decorating the path with petals. Bruce, smiling, waiting for her. Another Flash. Gotham streets, newspapers praising the heroic acts of Catwoman, saying she has saved countless lives and has redeemed herself from her life of crime. Another Flash, fighting back tears, the world falling apart, but than the hands of Torch, Seelie, Booster Gold, Reed and Oracle reach out to her, pulling her back to her feet, becoming her strength.
It was than she broke the contact, dropping Torch on the floor, her eyes wide and tinged with tears. It took but a moment to gather her composure, producing a small compact with mirror to check her lipstick. She than glanced at Torch, smiling honestly. "You're quite the kisser. But don't let it get to your head, I don't involve myself romantically with my teammates."

Torch hit the floor, thankful for his training and ability to keep his mind focused on the task at hand rather than what...distractions...might be thrown his way.
Thankful for the blue aura which hid his burning red cheeks, Torch got up and assumed a classic Elvis pose, drawling, "Well, shucks, sweet thang. Guess I oughta cancel that dinna date for us with my momma!"
He then did his best to keep from smiling too much, while steadfastly not looking around at anyone.

Seelie blinked, not really having any idea what just happened, apart from Catwoman apparently deciding to kiss Torch then drop him on the ground. "Well, that was... interesting."
Oracle smirked a bit, folding her hands on the table. Selena, must you always go out of your way to flummox the boys? "I'm glad you've decided to sign on, Catwoman. Now... goals. My overall goal is keeping Gotham safe, with a more immediate goal of keeping Intergang from creating an alien-armed gang war within the city limits. Would anyone like to propose amendments to that?"

"As a group? I think that sounds like a pretty good manifesto, although, naturally, we need to cope with the fact that the world could get eaten up by a soulless robot at any point..." and here Torch looked at Skeets, "present company excepted, of course," and he returned his gaze to Barbara and the rest, "and maybe we should lay out our expected obligations? I know that I, at least, while primarily based here and happy to look after Gotham, also have to look after this entire space sector...fortunately, the Green Lanterns do most of that work....but still! It's important stuff!" Nod for emphasis. "I guess what I'm saying...is...that we should really lay out the expectations for everyone here. We can't be a team if we're saying, 'Hey, dude, where are you?' 'Didn't you know I had a thing today?' 'You can't have a thing, we've got to save Gotham from a horde of giant, talking maggots!' 'No can do, man....'
He continues on in this vein until stopped, either by looks or an interruption.

Reed, who had still been grinning with amusement over the Torch/Catwoman kiss, finally snaps out of it. "All I have is the hospital. And I will work my shifts there. I'm a hero in and out of costume, and I refuse to decide what people deserve me more. I plan to give my patients, and the rest of Gotham equal time. Also. . " He smiles somewhat sheepishly, glancing at Barbara before looking at the rest of the people. "My parents mean a lot to me. And they know about my superheroing. Superheroing Shirtless is what my mom calls it. She's going to bug me until I manage to get everyone over for a bbq. In costume, of course. So if that's not your thing, fine, but you'll be crushing the heart of a sweet old woman." He makes wide eyes and attempts to look innocent and in need of sympathy.
Catwoman waits for Reed to finish, finally puts away her compact, and smiles. "I am always up for a good Barbecue. Now, as for our manifesto. . . I'll go along with anything planned, but I do have another identity to keep up. One that needs constant upkeep." She looks around, locking eyes with Barbara for a moment, and than with Torch. If I am to trust these people. I must open up. "I am Selena Kyle. Socialite, business woman and animal rescuer. I can't just disappear off the face of the planet. People would notice. "

Oracle considered Reed's thoughts, then Catwoman's, before nodding. "We should hold a get-together... something social. Something for bonding, and I would hate to disappoint someone's mother." Disappointed mine often enough, don't have the chance to make that right any... stop in Barbara "I've also had another thought... oddly, one inspired by you, Booster." She folded her hands together. "Something that I learned from Batman was the value of appearances... when the criminals know you're coming for them, they're more frightened, less likely to act, more likely to make mistakes." She smiled a bit. "I'm considering the idea of some very public act... something that will grab headlines, and show just how good we are."

Booster nodded, grinning in surprise, "Well, I've learned to never argue with women who possess both beauty and brains, and speaking for myself, I've always been more of a 'let-my-actions-speak-for-me' kinda guy. A little res non verba."
Before Skeets could whistle in amazement, Booster cut him off, "Yes, Booster can read."

Reed grinned widely when Oracle and the others seemed okay with the idea of the barbecue. He would have to tell his mother first thing in the morning. Suddenly he frowned, sighing. My mother is right. I have no life.
"Something public? What exactly do you have in mind, Barbara? I'm not exactly welcome in the public eye." Catwoman said, a slight hiss to her voice.

Barbara smiled a bit. "Simple enough thought. I find where you'll be dealing with something of minimal difficulty but some visual impressiveness, and arrange to have the media there to catch a glimpse." She gave a gesture. "And the criminals know that there is a team to be feared."

Reed arched a brow, fully listening to the conversation now. "But, isn't that a bit dishonest? Staged, kind of like professional wrestling?" He frowned, shaking his head. "I don't want to lie to the people, and you have to admit the villains won't be the only ones reading the paper. I would rather wait, until we do impressively stomp something of importance. But, that's just one man's opinion. I'm hardly the voice of the team."
Catwoman glanced at Reed, a smirk on the edge of her lips. A head on his shoulders. An honest head. She than looked to Oracle. "Regardless of what you decide, I agreed to help, but I am not going to pose for pictures. You can have Azure Torch, Booster Gold, Seelie and Reed post for pictures. They're photogenic. Heck I don't know any lady who could resist buying anything with Booster's face plastered across it. And Skeets is downright adorable. But, I will lose my underworld ties if it becomes known that I have joined a superhero team. And if I lose my ties, we lose possible information."
