The sailing was going slow, mainly because the water was incredibly choppy and Gil had demanded a safe pace. Luckily, Kenji's boat had been stocked with plenty of freeze dried food that everyone onboard was fed at least twice a day, though they might be getting tired of the freeze dried grub a few days into the journey.
The kids had taken to calling Gil "father" since he seemed to be the one giving the orders. They had also decided to call Fitz "brother" and were constantly trying to play with him.
Cynthia was kept busy with Hayden, who had indeed kept himself latched to her or Gil for the whole trip. When Gil was off trying to fix a leak, Hayden was latched onto Cynthia's leg, trembling.
"Cyn?" Hayden asked, his eyes big and brown. "Is.. Is it okay to be scared?"

"Of course it is." Cynthia smiled down at Hayden, then squatted down next to him, handing him a Friend Ball. "Of course it is okay to be scared... fear is one of the most important things we feel. It tells us when something's wrong, when we should be ready to run or to fight. The important thing is to be able to do what you have to even when you're scared, and to be able to discern what it is that you have to do."
Fitz sat with Faron and some of the kids, playing a game that involved rolling one of Cynthia's apricorns between the participants and getting it there in spite of the waves.

"You wanna see my pokemon?" Hayden says, smiling somewhat shyly. He held out his white and red pokeball. "He's really cute." He released his pokemon and a cheerful looking magnemite popped out and bopped around.
Gil came into the room Cynthia, Faron and Fitz were playing with the kids. "Okay, we should be reaching shore tomorrow. Remember let me do the talking. All these kids is going to look fishy."

Cynthia smiled at the Magnemite, tapping it in greeting before Squeaky run down her arm and jumped to the ground in front of it, using small changes in charge to greet it and start asking questions. The woman spoke to Hayden. "He is cute, and looks strong... and Squeaky approves."
After Gil entered and spoke, Cynthia nodded, responding softly to him. "You can do the talking, but I'll accompany you. Depending on the local mood, even your skill at diplomacy might not be enough to keep things from getting unpleasant. That happens, you'll need backup." She smiled a bit. "Besides, I want my part in keeping them safe... father." The last word was said with a good-natured, slightly teasing inflection.
She turned her eyes on the twins and the children with a small smile. Nothing is going to touch any of you, so long as I draw breath.

The Magnemite did a twirl in the air, and let off some sparks in greeting to Squeaky. Hayden looked at his pokemon with pride. "His name is Maggey. I know its not super creative, but he says he likes it.." Hayden made a sad face as he patted his steel/electric pokemon who did indeed look like he enjoyed his name.
Gil smiled at Hayden, and at Maggey. "Pleasure to meet you Maggey. My name is Gil." He knelt down to pat the Magnemite as well, who looked positively thrilled.

Squeaky hopped up onto Gil's shoulder to get closer to Maggey and continue his conversation, and Cynthia smiled to Hayden. "I think that is a good name."

The other side of the ocean
A few days later, the boat finally makes land, and a welcoming party is at the port to greet them. An older lady, dressed conservatively looks over all the children and steps forward. "We have plenty of room for the children to be boarded at the school house, until we can fit them into regular homes. We heard about the attack on New Bark, you must be the survivors. My name is Dana Brown." The lady smiled, reaching out to shake Gil's hand. He takes it appreciatively and shakes it.
"Thank you. They all seem to be doing all right, we would like to keep them that way." Gil replied.
"Yes, of course." Dana nodded. "I understand completely. Now are you family to some of these children?"
Gil started to shake his head, but his eyes fell on Hayden who was clutching Cynthia's leg. "That one there, Hayden. He is my cousin. We were just a group passing through town at a bad time and got shipped away with the kids. We would like to get accommodations for the others sorted out than we will be on our way."
Dana nodded. "Of course. Here in Lavender, we have always been helpful to those in need. We have been keeping track of your boat via our water pokemon for a few days now, so we have food and shelter prepared. Surely everyone is hungry?"
Dana than gestured to the children, who looked at Gil for approval and he nodded, before following her up the road towards the school house.
