The Road
Amanda returned Owen's gaze. "I was worried. So was Barbara... who'd likely be here instead of me, or as well as me, if she could have gotten out of that house in time to find you. So tell me... why are you so angry with me right now? Why are you so angry with anyone right now?"
Outside Blackhawk Estate
Stephanie grinned. "I think I'll be sticking around here... it's here or the dorm at the moment, and I've got little desire to try to sneak into anywhere right now. Take care today, all right?"
Blackhawk Manor
Barbara smiled a bit at Jack. "Hey, Jack." She folded her hands in her lap, setting her drink aside. "I've... never really figured out how to answer that question without depressing people, but I'll give it a shot. I found a purpose in life - something I could do, better than anyone else, that pushed me and tested me and required me to get better in every way, every night, but didn't overwhelm me. Then the Joker put a bullet in my spine without a thought toward me, in spite of the fact that I'd left him face-down waiting for the cops almost as many times as Batman had - he shot me as an attack on my father. I found a new way to serve, a new thing I could do better than anyone else, and in the time since I did that I've alienated friends, led good people to their deaths knowing what was going to happen to achieve a greater goal, remote-activate a friend's webcam to learn that her head had been blown up by computer data, and been exposed to just enough of Anti-Life to know to the very core of my soul what it is without getting enough to wipe me entirely and protect me from that knowledge." She smiled a bit. "I still have fun and find reasons to smile - I've also seen what happens when people don't do that - but a lot of days it's not easy."

Outside, on the road, probably making a scene.
"Why worried? Because I stepped outside? Because I didn't want to be in a place full of people I didn't know? Sitting there and twiddling my thumbs, wasting time when there are things that could be done? That I could be doing?!" Owen shook his head in exasperation. "Bane set out that prison break just for me, don't you understand? I put every single person in Gotham in danger today by existing. And the woman I am dating seems to think its perfectly all right to send my ex-lover after me to see if I am feeling all right. I am very angry, hurt, and quite confused and would rather be alone to digest it all!!"
Outside Blackhawk Estate
"Yeah, you too." Tim called, waving to Stephanie before he started to head towards Wayne Manor. On his way, he pulled out his cell phone and made a call to Alfred. "Hey, yeah. Just wanted to make sure everything was prepared? On the way home now... Yeah.. You got fresh sheets on the bed and his favorite foods stocked again? Selena's too right? Yeah yeah, I know you know how to do your job, old man. Can't blame a guy for getting excited, can you?" He chuckled as Alfred chastised him lightly. His eyes than caught sight of Owen and Seelie arguing near Gotham Park.
"Oh.. I'll have to talk to you later, Al... " He closed his cell phone before making his way over to the park, sneakily of course. Thats... Reed, right... and the Seelie girl. From Barb's new team. I wonder why they're fighting? Reed doesn't look happy, and neither does she.. I probably shouldn't be watching this... He made sure he stopped advancing before he got into hearing range, not wanting to intrude too much.
Blackhawk Manor
"Well, that does explain the wheelchair, doesn't it?" He lightly tapped one of its wheels with the toe of his shoe. "And from what I hear, you haven't been spending enough time with your Papa either. Though now I understand why. Don't think he would approve of you rollin' with the cape and mask set." Jack shrugged, a small grin on his face. "At least you're finding things to be happy about. For awhile there, I know you weren't. Understandable of course, but I was worried that you wouldn't be able to find yourself again." He looked off towards the couch Owen had been sitting on. "Nice to see you smiling again too, even if its at that doctor fella you've been seeing. What's his name.. Owen? Or was it Reed? No matter. Was just surprised that you sent another pretty little thing after him when he left here tonight." He glanced at Barbara and saw the apprehensive look on her face. Jack sighed, running a hand through his unruly brown locks. "Look Barbara. You've never been one to think you deserve the best in the world, not even back in high school. But damn girl, you're not going to make your father any grandbabies if you keep sending pretty women after the men you're dating. Kind of self destructive if you ask me."

Blackhawk Manor
Barbara shivered a bit as Jack kicked the chair, but managed to hide it - people toying with the device had always made her a bit uncomfortable; she wasn't entirely sure why. "You know, I haven't even told Huntress and Canary about my dates with Owen yet; my dad's never been able to keep a secret." She took a sip of her drink. "They've got unfinished business, Jack. I don't want it left unfinished."
The Road
Seelie gazed at Owen a moment longer. "Call me when you get up... let me know you got home okay. I'm sorry to intrude." She started to turn, then paused. "I didn't mean that last part to sound upset... I really am sorry I intruded." She then started to walk away to leave him to his thoughts.

Blackhawk Manor
Jack raised an eyebrow, a boyish grin crossing his lips. "Unfinished business? You sent his ex-girl after him? Oh man.." He began to chuckle. "I like you Barbara. You're amazing, but sometimes a bit thick. Look, your dad didn't tell me that you were dating Owen. He hasn't told anyone. Reason I know, is because I've seen the two of you. You're not the only two who enjoy Taco Loco you know." He sighed. "And if you're up to dating, Owen isn't the only option out there. Just think about that." He leaned over, kissing Barbara's cheek in a good bye greeting before heading back over to Question.
"So yeah, still terrible with the girls. Imagine that." He chuckled as he sat back next to his newest best friend.
The Road
Owen watched Seelie walk off, feeling more and more miserable inside. You shouldn't of taken it out on her. She hasn't done anything. I know.. I just... He shook his head and continued on his way home.
As Seelie walked away from Owen, Tim approached her, slipping his mask back on. "Hey, wait up. Seelie, right? Red Robin. Met you at the meeting Barbara just threw. I hope you don't mind the intrusion, but you look like you could use some nice hot tea right about now. And a kind ear to talk too." He shrugs, grinning. "I happen to have both."

The Next Night Near Gotham Cemetary
Jack Houston and Batgirl were working together, and had, with Hawk, just taken down the Clock King, when Batgirl and Hawk's communicators and Jack's police radio went off. Oracle's computer-modified voice came through. "All forces, drop what you're doing. We have a second breakout at Blackgate Prison. Anyone not actively engaged with an opposing costume, abandon patrols and make your way to Blackgate immediately... someone's smuggled in guns. I've got five confirmed dead among the prison's guards before even I heard about this. Get to Blackgate!"

Near Gotham Cemetary
Jack put down his communicator and turned to Batgirl and Hawk. "You can fit two on that bat-cycle of yours, can't ya Batgirl? Looks like we're riding double while Hawk hoofs it. Fastest way to get there. I know I can't keep up with that man on foot." And we need to get there fast. I've helped put away a bunch of these outlaws, I know what they are more than capable of. Damn, this vacation sucks.
Outside Gotham Municipal Hospital
Reed and Question have been patrolling, mostly in silence, when Barbara's message comes forth. Reed lets out a low growl and turns to Question. "You want to hitch a ride? Be faster if I do the leg work." At least I'm not with Amanda tonight. I still need to work on my apology. To her and Barbara. Important things first though. Criminals. And Criminals are bad.
Before really waiting for Question to answer, he swoops her up in his arms and takes a mighty leap onto a nearby building. "It's a little bit bouncier than flying, but it'll get you where you are going."
The Gotham Suburbs.
Red Robin, dressed in his new costume was chatting idly with Seelie and Dove as the call from Barbara came through. He immediately looked at the others, a serious expression on his face. "Come on. We're pretty far away, we've gotta go fast. And to go fast..." He looks at his motorcycle, the Redbird. "Dove, you and I will double up. Seelie, you can fly can't you? See if you can give my bike a bit of a boost too."
Gotham Business District
Canary and Huntress had just been eyeing a pair of killer boots that were in a store window, as the action in the business district was somewhat dead. Barbara's call came through, and immediately Huntress contacted Lady Blackhawk. "Two needed for pickup. If I am not mistaken, the others have means of transport. Get us there as fast as possible."

Approaching Blackgate Penitentiary
The Ricochet rocketed forward, with Lady Blackhawk's helicopter above it. Batgirl checked the GPS and Oracle's database based on police scans. "Twenty known to have gotten out so far. Oracle wants us at the prison to keep the rest in." She gave the steering bar a quick jerk, bringing the odd motorcycle to a stop in front of the prison.
The wall had been obliterated, and fires burned in at least three places in the main compound. One of the guard towers lay shattered, the guards from it fleeing two tattooed thugs. Lady Blackhawk took her helicoptor over the ruined wall, turning her head to Canary and Huntress. "I think this is where you get off!" Two bullets were heard hitting the side of the helicopter. "They'd better not have scratched the paint..."

Blackgate Penitentiary
Jack slipped off the back of the Ricochet and moved his eyes to the looming prison. "Best way to keep them all in is to find out how they got out, and get the security measures they by-passed up and running again." Jack rolled up the sleeves of his pin striped button down shirt and glanced at Batgirl and Hawk. "I think I have a decent memory of the inside of this place. I also think I should be able to get this prison up and running again if the two of you can see me safely inside." His hand fell to the butt of his police issused revolver. If I shoot one of these bastards, I don't think I'll be able to keep myself from shooting the rest.
The ruined wall.
Huntress grinned at Lady Blackhawk. "If they scratched your paint, we'll take it out of their hide." She mused as she jumped out of the helicopter, carefully aiming herself to land, feet first, in the face of one of the tattooed thugs.
"Hello boys. Somehow I doubt your prison term is up, so why not be good lads and mosey yourselves back inside?" Huntress asked, as she stepped off of the face of the one she had knocked down. She knew they would decline the offer, but at least she could say she tried.
Rear of the Penitentiary
Red Robin stopped Redbird just short of the prison's outer wall. "This is it. " He tapped the communicator in his ear, contacting Oracle. "O, We've arrived, awaiting orders." As he spoke he looked over to his two companions, Dove and Seelie. He couldn't help but grin a little, thinking that almost anyone he knew would be jealous of him because of the people he got teamed up with. Not only were they pretty, they also kicked quite a lot of ass. He would keep his mind focused on the task at hand, of course. But he would try to protect his comrades as well. He glanced sideways at Seelie, quickly moving his eyes to the front as she looked over at him. Focus.
Southwest Wall of Blackgate Penitentiary
Owen landed outside of the wall, and gently put Question down on her feet. Immediately he tapped his communicator, contacting Oracle. "Where's Bane? He has to be behind this. I need to know his location so I can put an end to this madness. I know he's doing this just to try to get to me, to see if I will break... Hell last night he almost succeeded. However, I'm thinking clearly now, and that boy needs his ass handed to him again."
Outsiders HQ
I miss her... My Selena. I can only wait and wonder where she disappeared too, leaving me cramped and contained in this former holy place. Raheem thought to himself as he woke from his nap and stretched his long spine. Having been unhooked from all the machines a week ago, Raheem was free to roam the Outsiders headquarters. He pushed the door of Selena's room open with a nudge from his nose than slipped out into the hallway. He sniffed the ground, picking up the scents of two humans. Fresh. Meaning they were still around. Luckily, Raheem recognized both scents and was pleased to know he was not alone.
As he moved down towards the basement, he caught the scent of fear in the air. Lingering from the incident last night. .... That man, glad he's gone. Would of eaten his face for attacking my Selena's friend. Barbara... I think that is her name. Yes. The one whose hair matches my fur.
He pushed the door to the basement stairs open with a huge paw, and began to trudge down the stairs, still following the scent of the two humans. His ears now could pick up faint bits of conversation. Raheem didn't understand what was going on, but he lost interest when Selena's name was not mentioned. Turning a corner, he peered into Oracle's computer room where Oracle and Claire have been all night, masterminding the force against the latest breakout.
Stress. Fatigue. Anger. Worry. All of that here. Raheem noted as he sniffed the air. He walked inside, rubbing up against Claire's legs much like a housecat would than stopping by Barbara's chair. He placed a huge paw in her lap, and looked at her with his giant golden eyes. Don't be scared, friend of my Selena. I'll watch over you until she gets back. Its what she would of wanted me to do. He was attempting to comfort her, and he laid his head ontop the paw in her lap, and did his best imitation of a housecat purr.

Outsiders HQ
Barbara stroked Raheem's fur for a moment, considering the different requests for information and orders. "I've got no word on the location of Bane. Reed, Hawk, Black Canary, form a defensive position at the large gap in the prison wall - there's still over two hundred criminals rioting in there; I want them to STAY inside. Seelie, Booster, Huntress, Dove, Question, Red Robin, I need you inside the facility. The police are getting overwhelmed in there; those who can fly are going to be evacuating the injured - cops and prisoners alike - to the small courtyard. Things appear to be calm there, and it's got internal walls that you can use to keep them separate and safe from each other. Those who can't, back the cops up. Goal is casualty avoidance... we want as few people hurt as possible. Lady Blackhawk, head for the Clock Tower and pick up the Tub; fill it in the bay. Batgirl, get Jack to where he needs to go." She turned her head when Claire indicated a message on the third moniter. "Batmobile incoming. ETA ten minutes." She looked to Claire. "Any luck on the police bands finding the ones who've gotten out?"

Blackgate, Outside
Owen looked to Question after recieving his orders. "You be safe." He said, before heading to the break in the wall. If there is one thing I am good at, its taking blows. So who better to act as a wall? He couldn't help but grin silently as he ran towards the gap, meeting up with Hawk and Canary. He nodded to them. "Its a pleasure." was all the greeting he had time to give.
Outsiders HQ
"I've got confirmation on three individuals, at Mike's Brewery. Two more over in the red light district." Claire said, her eyes easily deciphering the information before her. "I am also making the last modifications necessary for the harness you wanted me to make for Reed. I've been able to up its power return by .4 more than you had asked for, I hope that's all right?"
Raheem closed his eyes, enjoying Barbara stroking his head. He listened to her speak, not once hearing Selena's name. Should she be looking for my Selena too? Isn't my Selena vanishing in the night important? Raheem thought before checking himself. Yes, but also my Selena is a big girl, and can handle herself. My Selena will be back. I just have to be patient.
Blackgate, Headed Inside
Red Robin leads Seelie and Dove to a prison block where the cops were losing against the escapees. With a small motion of his hand, he urges the heroes forward, joining up with the others who were sent into the bowels of Blackgate. Without speaking the heroes almost moved as one, doing exactly what Barbara had instructed. Tim got inbetween two prisoners and the cop they had injured, knocking the first prisoner unconscious while dodging the blows of the other one.
Huntress caught sight of a few that were trying to sneak out the back, and hurried to intercept them. Hitting them both in the knee caps with a swift blow from her quarter staff.
Blackgate, Headed towards the basement
"The security main computer is in the basement. There are only a few stairwells that lead to it. I don't think we'll run into much interference, because the prisoners wouldn't bother with stairwells going down when they are trying to escape." Jack Houston whispered to Batgirl as they made their way into the prison, turning down their first hallway, heading away from the main ruckus.
He glanced sideways at Batgirl. "Sorry you got stuck with baby sittin' duty. Taggin' along with an ordinary cop must be boring in comparison to all the other things you do."

The Past
The young Republican candidate for President made his way up the steps toward the podium to deliver his campaign speech, the confidence in his eyes unmatched by the awkwardness of his steps. He was tall - even taller than Bruce Wayne - and did not yet have the beard that history would remember him with, lending his face a youthful cast.
He leaned forward against the podium, built for someone much shorter than he, and arranged his notes.
Grey Ghost perched on the roof of a building opposite the candidate's podium, out of earshot, with Catwoman and Batwoman flanking him. He held a pair of binoculars in his hands, gazing through them into various windows. "If only the Pistol Twins had known the location Terra-Man planned to attack from..."
Batwoman turned her head, pointing skyward. "What about there?" As Grey Ghost and Catwoman turned to look, a speck in the sky started to become more defined - a winged horse, with a man in a cowboy hat riding its back. Grey Ghost nodded. "There."

Outside
As the group assigned outside waited, a group of thugs started to approach. One of the thugs saw the heroes there. "Umm... maybe we shouldn't try this..."
Another shook his head "I've got life, and Jimmy's got death. They ain't gonna do any worse to us than that." He then raised his shotgun and pulled the trigger.
The Basement
Batgirl shook her head. "It's no problem. I'd rather be here than up there... actually, when things get too complicated, I tend to mess them up." Like when I tried to deal with all the gangs... "How much further?"
As they turned a corner, they saw a small man, barely over five feet tall, sitting with his arms around his legs. "Anti-Life... Anti-Life... Anti-Life equals... why can't I remember? Anti-Life justifies my ignorance!"
Batgirl shook her head. "Another Anti-Life burnout... Oracle's been trying to figure out how many of them there are, to figure out if there's a way to help them. Nothing's come up so far."

The Past
"He's going to have to get closer, if he expects to get a decent shot. What's the plan, Bat?" Selena asked, looking over at Bruce. Even though he was clad in his Gray Ghost costume she could not picture him as anyone but Batman. "Want me to sneak around to his rear, whip his wrist and pull him right off of that flying horse?"
BlackGate Prison, the outerwall.
The shotgun blast fired, and Reed dived infront of the gun catching the brunt of the pellets smacking into his chest, arms, groin and face. He was pushed back by the blow, smacking straight into Hawk who was able to keep him from sliding any further. Reed than turned his face to the criminals, causally wiping the pellets from his skin. He smirked, his long fangs glinting in the moonlight. "I think its best you boys turn around." He growled, kneeling down, spreading his arms and preparing to leap on the first one to make a move.
In the Bowels of Blackgate.
Jack looked at Batgirl, noting the slight frown on her face as she spoke. "Everyone messes up. But believe me, if you didn't deserve that cowl, I'm sure you wouldn't be wearing it." He shot her a handsome smile that lasted only a moment before he turned his head and looked at the anti-lifer.
He knelt down, put a hand on the man's shoulder and spoke calmly. "Nothing justifies ignorance, my friend. Though, in this case... it might be better that you forgot."
He than stood up, pointed at a nearby door. "Through there."

The Past
Grey Ghost nodded to Catwoman. "That sounds good. Batwoman..."
Batwoman smirked. "Behind the chimney, while you draw his attention. I spent months watching what video there is of how you operate, over and over."
Grey Ghost returned the smirk. "Then let's do this."
Outer Wall
As the lead thug charged, Black Canary inhaled, smirked, then released her Cry, flinging him backward into the others and sending his gun flying from his hand. One of the other thugs turned and ran toward another breach in the wall, only to find Hawk pounding off after him, grabbing him and flinging him toward Canary, who was already in a fighting stance. "Let's rock."
Bowels
Batgirl make her way to the door, taking the knob and pulling it open. "Here we are."

The Past
Selena shot a smirk to Batwoman as she mouthed to her "Back off sister, the Bat is mine."ending her sentence in a wink so that Miss Kane knew she was joking.
She quickly got into position, unfurling her whip from her waist and waiting for the best time to strike.
Outer Wall
Reed smirked as he watched Canary and Hawk in action. Now this is it! No waiting around, no time to rethink decisions. He thought as he charged forward to the other thugs. I know they're members of Barbara's other team... why does she need two teams? She is trying to take on Gotham's crime all alone? His brow furrowed in worry as he slammed one of the thugs onto the ground, and bound his hands behind his back. She doesn't need to do that.. This crime isn't her fault... She needs a chance to be her again, and if I can't give her that chance... what good am I? Reed growled as he took out his aggression on the next thug, throwing him against the wall so hard that the thug fell unconscience.
Bowels of Blackgate
Jack slipped inside, looking over the security equipment. He walked over to the panels, feeling his way around. "It should be like riding a bike, right? Working security at Blackgate isn't something you're likely to forget..." He found the panels he was looking for, the ones that would lower all the gates. But that could trap the heroes inside as well.
"Red, I need you to tell everyone to scatter in ten minutes. Toss as many of these heathens back into their cells, or the closest room they can find. Tell them to stay to the hallways only. HALLWAYS ONLY." He repeated to make himself clear. "If you do that, and give me their locations, I can unlock the gates one by one to let them back out."
